Cell Line Origin
Buffalo Rat liver
Cell Line Description
Originally isolated by primary cloning. Serum-free medium conditioned by the cells produces a family of polypeptides termed multiplication stimulating activity (MSA).
Application
Growth factor studies
Culture Medium
Coon′s modified Ham′s F12 + 2mM Glutamine + 5% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) or Kaign′s modified Ham′s F12 + 45mg/L ascorbic acid + 18mg/L Inositol + 5% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) + 2mM Glutamine.
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-5x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
