Application

1-Chlorobutane may be used in the synthesis of ionic liquids, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hydrogen sulfate ([Bmim]⁺[HSO₄]^-) and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium dihydrogen phosphate ([Bmim]⁺[H₂PO₄]^-).
