These 19-hydroxylated prostaglandins have been associated with selectively agonizing EP2 receptors, contrary to PGE2 , which can activate a variety of prostanoid receptor types. The ability of these 19-hydroxylated prostaglandins to selectively agonize EP2 receptors is useful in the deconvolution of EP-receptor function.
