Studies indicate that 6-Deoxy-L-talose was first isolated from polysaccharides in the cell wall of|Actinomyces bovis|. In addition, 6-Deoxy-L-talose is a component of an antigenic heteroglycan from|Streptococcus bovis|. Furthermore, this aldohexose sugar is C-2 epimer of galactose.
