General description
ATP-binding cassette sub-family G member 5, also known as Sterolin-1, and encoded by the gene name ABCG5, plays an important role in the selective transport of the dietary cholesterol in and out of the enterocytes and in the selective sterol excretion by the liver into bile. ABCG5 is localized too the membrane and is expressed in the liver, lower levels in the small intestine and colon. Mutations associated with ABCG5 is Sitosterolemia, which is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by increased intestinal absorption of all sterols including cholesterol, plant and shellfish sterols, and decreased biliary excretion of dietary sterols into bile.
Immunogen
Purified recombinant fragment of human ABCG5 expressed in E. Coli
Application
Anti-ABCG5, clone 1B5E10 Antibody is an antibody against ABCG5 for use in western blotting, IHC, flow cytometry & ELISA.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:200-1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected ABCG5 in cervical and rectum cancer tissues.
Flow Cytometry Analysis: A 1:200-400 dilution from a representative lot detected ABCG5 in A549 cells.
ELISA: A representative lot detected control Antigen (100 ng) and Antigen (10 ng, 50 ng, 100 ng) in ELISA (Direct).
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blotting in HL7702, Raji and Jurkat cell lysates.
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:500-2,000 dilution of this antibody detected ABCG5 in HL7702, Raji and Jurkat cell lysates.
