General description
The FAS receptor (FasR) is a protein encoded by the TNFRSF6 gene in humans and is mapped to chromosomal band 10q24.1. It is a cell surface antigen expressed on a variety of normal and malignant cells.
Immunogen
Immunogen Sequence: GI # 4507583, sequence 21-165
Recombinant tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily, member 6 isoform 1
Application
Anti-FAS (ab1) antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.
Biochem/physiol Actions
The FAS receptor (FasR) is associated with programmed cell death (apoptosis). It functions as an apoptosis-signaling cell surface Ag. Mutation of the gene or defective FAS signaling may render the T-cell lymphoblastic lymphomas (T-LBLs) tumor cells resistant to apoptotic cell death.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.
