ZooMAb antibodies represent an entirely new generation of recombinant monoclonal antibodies.
Each ZooMAb antibody is manufactured using our proprietary recombinant expression system, purified to homogeneity, and precisely dispensed to produce robust and highly reproducible lot-to-lot consistency. Only top-performing clones are released for use by researchers. Each antibody is validated for high specificity and affinity across multiple applications, including its most commonly used application. ZooMAb antibodies are reliably available and ready to ship when you need them.

Specificity
Clone 513 is a ZooMAb mouse recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects Myelin-associated glycoprotein.
Immunogen
L2 epitope-carrying glycoproteins from 1- to 2- day-old chicken brains.
Application
Anti-MAG, clone 513 ZooMAb, Cat. No. ZMS1035, s a recombinant Mouse monoclonal antibody that targets Myelin Associated Glycoprotein and is tested in Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin), and Western Blotting.
Immunofluorescence Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected MAG in rat brain tissue sections.
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected MAG in rat brain tissue sections.
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution of this antibody detected MAG in Oligodendrocyte precursor cells.
Note: Actual optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user as specimens, and experimental conditions may vary with the end user
Target description
Myelin-associated glycoprotein (Siglec-4a, MAG) is encoded by the MAG (also known as GMA) gene (Gene ID: 4099) in chicken. MAG is a single-pass type I membrane protein that is expressed in myelin-forming cells when oligodendrites initiate contact with axons. It is synthesized with a signal peptide (aa 1-19), which is subsequently cleaved off to generate the mature form that contains an extracellular domain (aa 20-516), a transmembrane domain (aa 517-536), and a cytoplasmic domain (aa 518-626). MAG is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily that is found in both peripheral and CNS myelin, where it plays a role in the formation and maintenance of myelin sheath. It stabilizes contacts between myelinating axons and glial processes. It also participates in the formation of morphologically intact myelin sheath that results in periaxonal cytoplasmic collar of Schwann cells and compact myelin structure of oligodentrocytes. MAG is also considered to be important in maintenance of myelin with aging. MAG protects motoneurons against apoptosis and injury that is mediated via its interaction with neuronal reticulon receptor 4R (RTN4R) and Reticulon-4 receptor-like 2 protein (RTN4RL2). Three isoforms of MAG protein have been described that are produced by alternative splicing. This ZooMAb recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals. Physical form
Purified recombinant mouse monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS, 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.
Reconstitution
300 μg/mL after reconstitution at 25 μL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
Storage and Stability
Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
