General description
Neisseria gonorrhoeae is a species of Gram-negative diplococci bacteria that causes a sexually-transmitted genitourinary infection, gonorrhea, in genitals, throat and eyes. Asymptomatic infection is common in males and females but untreated infection may spread to other parts of the body and cause serious disseminated diseases.

Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Does not cross-react with: N. meningitidis, N. cinerea, N. lactamica, M. sicca, B. catarrhalis, E. coli, P. mirabilis, Gardnerella vaginalis, or Chlamydia trachomatis
