General description
Nuclear receptor subfamily 4 group A member 1 (NR4A1) is a transcription factor expressed in thymocytes. It is part of an orphan nuclear receptor superfamily. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 12.
Immunogen
Synthetic 17 amino acid peptide from internal region of human NUR77. Percent identity with other species by BLAST analysis: Human, Orangutan, Gibbon, Monkey, Horse (100%); Gorilla, Dog, Bat, Panda (94%); Marmoset, Bovine (88%); Mouse, Rat (82%).
Biochem/physiol Actions
Nuclear receptor subfamily 4 group A member 1 (NR4A1) has a role in cell proliferation. It acts as an activator of mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling and regulates apoptosis. The protein modulates genes related to low oxidative stress and growth promotion. NR4A1 has been shown to be expressed in ovarian tumors.
