General description
The protein named α-Parvin or Parvin, or Actopaxin, or Calponin-like integrin-linked kinase-binding protein (CH-ILKBP), or Matrix-remodeling-associated protein 2 (MXRA2), and encoded by the gene PARVA/MXRA2, is a critical adhesion coupling protein involved in many systems including sarcomere organization, smooth muscle contraction, cardiovascular development, angiogenesis, actin cytoskeleton organization and the establishment of cell polarity, adhesion, spreading and migration. α-Parvin is required for the adhesion of smooth muscle cell to endothelial cells during blood vessel development and for the formation of lamellipodia and ciliogenesis. α-Parvin is localized to the cell junction and focal adhesions. The protein is peripheral membrane protein located on the cytoplasmic side of the cell membranes and interacts with the cytoskeleton in the cytoplasm. In muscle cells it is associated with the Z line of the sarcomere. α-Parvin is expressed many tissues including muscle, kidney and liver.
Immunogen
GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human Parvin.
Application
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:2,000 dilution and a 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected Parvin alpha in human kidney and skeletal muscle tissues, respectively.
This Anti-Parvin alpha Antibody, clone 7E2.1 is validated for use in western blotting & IHC (Paraffin) for the detection of Parvin alpha.
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blotting in human heart tissue.
Western Blotting Analysis: 0.2 µg/mL of this antibody detected Parvin alpha in 200 µg of human heart tissue.
