General description
CREB1 (cAMP response element-binding protein) gene codes for a 43kDa cellular transcription factor, CREB. It has 341 amino acids. It belongs to the basic leucine zipper family of transcription factors. CREB1 is upregulated abundantly in human tissues and is located on human chromosome 2q33–35.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human CREB around the phosphorylation site of Ser142.
Immunogen Range: 111-160
Biochem/physiol Actions
Knockdown of CREB (cAMP response element-binding protein) promotes apoptosis in pre-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells by preventing prosurvival signals. It controls the transcription of antiapoptotic proteins in several cell types. Decrease in CREB phosphorylation leads to malfunction of mitochondria and hypoxia-induced apoptosis in chondrocytes.
