General description
GATA binding protein 1 (GATA1) is a key hematopoietic transcription factor. It is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome Xp11.23 and it belongs to the GATA transcription factor family.
Immunogen
Peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of serine 310 (K-A-S(p)-G-K), according to the protein GATA1.
Biochem/physiol Actions
GATA binding protein 1 (GATA1) plays a crucial role in erythroid and megakaryocyte differentiation and proliferation. It modulates the expression of genes and acts as an E-cadherin repressor. Mutations in the GATA1 gene have been linked to transient abnormal myelopoiesis (TAM) and myeloid leukemia of DS (ML-DS). The protein has anti-apoptotic functions in breast cancer.

Target description
GATA1 encodes a protein which belongs to the GATA family of transcription factors. The protein plays an important role in erythroid development by regulating the switch of fetal hemoglobin to adult hemoglobin. Mutations in this gene have been associated with X-linked dyserythropoietic anemia and thrombocytopenia.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate-buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol
