General description
Microtubule-associated protein 1B (MAP1B) is neuron-specific and is thought to play a part in controlling the neuronal cytoskeleton. MAP1B is made up of heavy and light chains and is involved in the microtubule and actin filament association. MAP1B may have an important role in axon formation by supporting microtubule dynamics and controlling cytoskeletal arrangement. MAP1B has also been associated with Netrin 1 signaling.
Specificity
Other homologies: Human (91% sequence homology).
This antibody recognizes MAP1B phosphorylated at Thr1265.
Immunogen
Epitope: Phosphorylated Thr1265
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to mouse MAP1B phosphorylated at Thr1265.
Application
Anti-phospho MAP1B (Thr1265) Antibody is an antibody against phospho MAP1B (Thr1265) for use in WB, IH & IC.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: 1:600 dilution from a representative lot detected MAP1B in embryonic (E12) rat spinal cord tissue. (Image courtesy of Dr. Phillip R. Gordon-Weeks, King′s College London.)
Immunofluorescence Analysis: A representative lot was used by an independent laboratory in IF. (Trivedi, N., et al. (2005). Journal of Cell Science. 118:993-1005.)
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blot in S1 rat brain tissue lysate.
Western Blot Analysis: 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected MAP1B on 10 µg of S1 rat brain tissue lysate.
