General description
The serum and glucocorticoid-regulated kinase (Sgk1) is a member of the AGC kinase family. It is located on human chromosome 6q23. Sgk1 is an aldosterone-induced protein kinase.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human SGK around the phosphorylation site of Ser78.
Immunogen Range: 41-90
Biochem/physiol Actions
The serum- and glucocorticoid-regulated kinase (Sgk1) controls ENaC (expressed renal epithelial Na+ channel) by mineralocorticoids. SGK1 controls p27 phosphorylation upon the activation by mTOR-Raptor. This gene is essential to control blood pressure and hypertension in man.
