General description
Zinc finger CCHC-type containing 11 (ZCCHC11) is a 3′ terminal uridylyl transferase. It possesses multiple domains and has a molecular weight of about 185kDa. A fragment of the protein contains a TRF4 domain, a nucleotidyl transferase domain (NTD), two PAP-associated domains and three zinc finger domains. The ZCCHC11 gene is localized on human chromosome 1p32.3.
Immunogen
Peptide with sequence RERCPHPPRGNVSE, from the C-terminal region of the protein sequence according to NP_001009881.1; NP_056084.1; NP_001009882.1
Biochem/physiol Actions
Zinc finger CCHC-type containing 11 (ZCCHC11) has a role in the RNA-binding protein Lin28 blockade of let-7 microRNA biogenesis. It is recruited by Lin28 to pre-let-7 (let-7 precursors), where it catalyzes the addition of an oligo (U)-tail.The protein is crucial for poly (A) tail length maintenance. ZCCHC11 also has a role in regulating the stability of transcripts for interleukin-6 and other cytokines.
