Rat Wistar liver hepatoma
Cell Line Description
Derived from the liver of a Wistar rat. Useful in quantitative carcinogenesis studies. Inoculation into new born rats is more sensitive than nude mice for detection of tumorigenicity of rat liver lines.
Application
Carcinogenesis and tumourigenicity studies
Culture Medium
DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cells 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
