Cell Line Origin
Mouse pituitary tumour
Cell Line Description
This F2 subclone was developed from original AtT-20, an andrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) secreting cell line established from murine pituitary tumour. These cells are readily transfected using a standard calcium phosphate protocol.
Application
AtT-20/D16v-F2 has been used to study the role of the G-protein Rasd1 in hypothalamic response to neuronal activation. It has also been used to study the effect of cAMP and glucocorticoid treatment on cAMP-responsive element binding protein 3 like 1 (CREB3L1).
Culture Medium
DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% FBS.
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:5 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C. Cell clumps must be broken up to prevent cells growing in suspension.
