BioRich 1 with 10 common anchorage dependent cell lines commonly show increased yields from 8% to 114% when compared to standard media in normal serum-containing systems. BioRich 1 also shows elevated growth of hybridoma lines at reduced serum concentrations when compared to normal base media. BioRich 1 will support comparable growth to standard media (containing 10% serum) at reduced serum concentrations and in some lines will maintain growth at serum concentrations which will not support growth when using standard media. BioRich 1 is a DMEM/F-12 powdered media blend enriched with trace elements. This permits the transition to "serum-free" conditions reducing or eliminating the necessity for serum supplementation. It is used with ITS Premix, completely serum independent.
