The bioLifeTM MUG ß-Galactosidase Assay Kit provides a highly sensitive fluorogenic subsatrate for detection of ß-galactosidase activity in tranfected cells. In the presence of ß-galactosidase the colorless 4-methylumbelliferyl B-D-galactopyranoside (MUG) substrate is hydrolyzed into a product that has bright blue fluorescence. Fluorescence can be detected at Ex/Em = 360/460 nm. Assays are performed in 96-well format.
