General description

Bis-Tris Bicine EDTA buffer contains Bis-Tris and Bicine, zwitterionic buffer components, which can form strong bonds with common metals along with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), a metal chelator. It has a pH of 7.2. This buffer is commonly used to transfer protein from gels to membranes in western blot.

Intended for use in western blotting as a transfer buffer.

Contents of one pouch, when dissolved in 500 mL of ultrapure water, will yield a 1X solution containing 25 mM Bicine, 25 mM Bis-Tris, 1 mM EDTA, pH 7.2 at 25 °C. Contents tested to be DNAse, RNAse, Protease, and Nickase free.

Storage and Stability

Store at room temperature. Product may naturally agglomerate but can be simply broken up within the pouch prior to use.
