C.L.E.D. HiVeg™ Agar w/ Bromo Thymol Blue is recommended for use in urinary bacteriology. This medium promotes the growth of all urinary pathogens. Lactose is the fermentable sugar. Bromo thymol blue is the pH indicator which turns yellow at acidic ph. Colonies grow as blue or yellow due to fermentation of lactose. It is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk. Application: Used For Isolation & Differentiation of Urinary Pathogens On The Basis of Lactose Fermentation Appearance of Powder: Yellow colored, may have slightly greenish tinge, homogeneous, free flowing powder Gelling: Firm, comparable with 1.5% Agar gel Color and Clarity: Green colored, very slightly opalescent gel forms in petri plates Reaction of 3.61% w/v aqueous solution is pH 7.3 ± 0.2 at 25°C Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 35-37°C for 18-24 hours
