Cell Line Description
Established from normal lung tissue of a 35 year old Caucasian male who died of a class 1-2 astrocytoma. The donor who was maintained for organ transplantation prior to removal of the lung. The cells will undergo a further 11 doublings.

Culture Medium
EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:3 i.e. seeding at 2-5x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
