Cell Line Description
A B lymphoblastoid line obtained from the peripheral blood of an 11 year old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Appear free of virus particles by electron microscopy. Do not synthesise immunoglobulins. Grown in continuous spinner culture for 6 months. HLA profile: A1, A2, B12, B17, Cw2.

Culture Medium
RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 20% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Maintain cultures between 3x10,000 to 1x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C. Cultures can tolerate high densities i.e. 1-2x1,000,000 cells/ml.
