Solid State and Dry Contact Technology High accuracy Low or no maintenance Robust, rugged and reliable Solid State electrodes have solid, homogeneous sensing elements. They are more rugged and easier to clean than glass or membrane sensors. Polishing strips for the solid state sensors are included with the electrode. Thomas also offers two half-cell versions ("Solid State" and "Dry Contact") that require a double junction reference electrode. A separate reference electrode can be used with more than one type half-cell ISE, saving some cost. Double junction reference electrodes allow the use of special outer chamber electrolyte formulas which can avoid or reduce interferences from other ions. Dry contact electrodes require no preconditioning. Simply place electrode in a sample and read results. This innovative technology offers unlimited shelf life, practically no maintenance and greater measurement stability.
