Eriksson (ER) Medium with Vitamins; without Sucrose and Agar (C08-0442-299)

Eriksson (ER) Medium has been developed by Eriksson in 1965 for the in vitro cell suspension culture of Haplopappus gracilis, family Asteraceae/Compositae. The formulation is a nutrient blend of inorganic salts, vitamins and amino acid. Eriksson (ER) Medium provides all the essential macroelements and microelements. Potassium nitrate and ammonium nitrate serve as sources of nitrogen that initiates morphogenesis. This mixture of cation and anion also helps to maintain pH of the medium. Potassium dihydrogen phosphate provides phosphate and stimulates cell growth. Microelements like Boron, Manganese, Molybdenum, Copper, Iron and Zinc play vital role in plant metabolism and improves growth of cells. Thiamine, pyridoxine, nicotinic acid act as enzymatic cofactors in universal pathways including glycolysis and TCA cycle along with primary and secondary metabolism in the plants. Glycine serves as a source of amino acid. The product is plant tissue culture tested but it is the sole responsibility of the user to ensure the suitability of the medium for individual species.
