Stains for mycobacterium leprae and nocardia in less than 30 minutes. This kit is commonly used demonstrate the causative organism of leprosy. The MasterTech Fite’s Stain Kit differs from similar kits or procedures in that Advanced Carbol Fuchsin™ (ACF) is used instead of a standard Carbol Fuchsin and Light Green is used as a counterstain instead of Methylene Blue. In comparison to standard Carbol Fuchsins, MasterTech ACF™ requires no heat and has a much shorter staining time by combining all three fuchsin dyes. Light Green is a much better counterstain than Methylene Blue, as it provides higher contrast against the red stained bacteria. Advanced Carbol Fuchsin™ serves as the primary stain, producing red bacteria against a blue background counterstained by Light Green. 100ml Stain Kit yields between 53 and 66 slides.
