Cell Line Description
Derived from the tongue of a normal female bull frog. Incubation is optimal at 25°C but growth at a slower rate can continue even at 4°C where cells may be stored for prolonged periods.
Culture Medium
EMEM (HBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 20% Distilled H2O + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:3 i.e. seeding at 3-5x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.02% EDTA at 10°C; 25°C. Capable of growth down to 4°C. Flask should not be gassed. Optimum pH is 8.0
