HardyCHROM Urine Biplate (HUrBi), 15x100mm, 18mL

HardyCHROM™ Urine Biplate (HUrBi™) is a selective chromogenic medium recommended for the cultivation, differentiation and enumeration of urinary tract pathogens based on colony color and morphology. Different selective agents have been added to the each side of the biplate to select for growth of gram-positive organisms and yeast on one side and to select for growth of gram-negative organisms on the other side of the biplate. E. coli and Enterococcus can be identified by color only; no further testing is needed. Only a spot indole is needed for Proteus mirabilis. This biplate is also helpful in the identification of Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Candida, Klebsiella, Enterobacter, Citrobacter, etc. HUrBi makes identification simple and cost effective. It's also helpful in spotting mixed infections. Color interpretations will be the same as HardyCHROM UTI (Cat. no. G313). This media is to be stored and incubated in the dark. If you have a light in your refrigerator, incubator, or you leave the media exposed to light on the bench top, Hardy Diagnostics offers free Blok-Boxes. Blok-Box is a reusable cardboard box that holds one sleeve of ten petri plates.
