Cell Line Origin
Human lymphocytes, Xeroderma pigmentosum variant, EBV-transformed
Cell Line Description
Derived from mononuclear cells from the peripheral blood of a 62 year old male. The patient was diagnosed with Xeroderma pigmentosum variant, illustrating that the disease is heterogeneous. T cells from the original sample have been used for UV irradiation studies and hprt mutant frequency. The cell line has been established by transformation with EBV. Fibroblasts from the same individual are designated XP11 BR.
Application
DNA repair deficiency studies, hprt mutation analysis
Culture Medium
RPMI 1640 + 4mM Glutamine + 200 μg/ml Sodium Pyruvate (NaPy) + 15% Heat Inactivated (HI-FBS).
Subculture Routine
Maintain cultures between 3-9 x 100,000 cells/ml dilute every 1-2 days to 3 x 100,000 cells/ml 5%
