Biochem/physiol Actions
IL-2 (interleukin-2) is a cytokine which is involved in the differentiation of T cell and natural killer (NK) cell, T cell memory, activation-induced lymphocyte cell death. The protein also has a role in regulatory T cell (Treg) development and homeostasis. It is linked with the risk of Grave′s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, celiac disease, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, Crohn′s disease, ulcerative colitis and type-1 diabetes (T1D).
Possesses the biological functions of the IL-2 moiety and a prolonged circulating half-life determined by the Fc domain.
Other Notes
Dimeric fusion protein consisting of mouse IL-2 fused to mutant mouse IgG2a Fc.
Physical form
Solution in 0.2 μm filtered phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4.
Analysis Note
The biological activity is measured in a cell proliferation assay using CTLL2 cells.
