Cell Line Description
Derived from the lung of a young guinea pig (strain 13) and subsequently cloned. Capable of at least 69 population doublings without showing overt signs of senescence.

Culture Medium
Ham′s F12 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:4 i.e. seeding at 3-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin; 5% CO2; 37°C. Cultures take 3-5 days to reach confluency.
