Cell Line Description
Derived from the ascitic fluid of a male with Burkitt′s lymphoma of the liver. The cells contain an unidentified herpes-like virus and have been used in co-cultivation studies to establish lymphocytes in cultures. The cell line is also EBNA positive. Ethnicity: Black.

Culture Medium
RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Maintain cultures between 4-6x100,000 cells/ml. Add fresh medium every 2-3 days. Maximum cell density is achieved at 2-3x1,000,000 cells/ml.
