As a starting material to synthesize lanthanum zirconate nanoparticles.
As a precursor to prepare luminescent lanthanum-tricarboxytriphenylamine (La-TCA) coordination polymer nanosheets.
To fabricate perovskite oxide-type LaFeO₃ dendrites for chemical sensors.
To synthesize LaMnO₃ perovskite catalysts by using citric acid sol–gel method and La_0.6Sr_0.4MnO₃ perovskites via coprecipitation method. The LaMnO₃ perovskite catalysts has used for the oxidation of propane for emission control of hydrocarbon volatile organic compounds.
