Lindlar catalyst is a heterogeneous catalyst that is used mainly for the selective hydrogenation of alkynes to alkenes.
It can also effective catalyze:
- selective hydrogenations of triple bonds to cis-double bonds
- monohydrogenation of polyolefins
- hydrogenation of azides to amines
