Cell Line Description
Derived from the lung of a C57BL mouse implanted with a primary Lewis Lung carcinoma. The cells can be used as a model for metastasis and for studying the effects of chemotherapeutic agents.
Application
Tumourigenicity, Metastasis and chemotherapeutic agent studies
Culture Medium
DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:4 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using mechanical technique (aspiration); 5% CO2; 37°C. Cells detach as aggregates and are therefore difficult to count.
