Timolol maleate

A first generation inhibitor of the HIV-1 aspartic protease (Ki = 0.04 nM) that blocks replication of HIV-1 in the human T cell MT-4 cell line (IC₅₀ = 150 nM) as well as in peripheral blood lymphocytes (IC₅₀ = 80 nM).

General description The protein encoded by this gene is a secreted cytokine that induces cardiac myocyte hypertrophy in vitro. It has been shown to bind and activate the ILST/gp130 receoptor.
