General description
Chemokine receptor CXCR1 also refers as type I IL-8 receptor or IL-8RA is a class A, rhodopsin-like G-protein-coupled receptor, expressed mainly in neutrophils but not in T or B lymphocytes . It has a crucial role in cellular signal transduction and targeted as drug receptors. Monoclonal anti-CXCR-1 (IL-8 RA) antibody can be used to neutralize the bioactivity facilitated by human cell surface CXCR-1. Mouse anti-CXCR-1 (IL-8 RA) antibody reacts specifically with CXCR-1 transfected cells but not with the parent cell line. The product has also shown no cross-reactivity with human CXCR-2.
Specificity
The antiboody, in the presence of anti-CXCR2 (Sigma Product No. C6348), will neutralize human cell surface CXCR-1 mediated-myloperoxidase release from human granulocytes induced by IL-8. The antibody reacts with human CXCR1 transfectant cells and not the parent cell line. The antibody shows no cross-reactivity with CXCR2.
Immunogen
human CXCR1 transfected NSO mouse myeloma cells.
Application
Monoclonal anti-CXCR-1 (IL-8 RA) antibody can be used in flow cytometry for detecting CXCR-1 present on human blood cells. It can also be used in immunohistochemistry (25 μg/mL) using frozen human tissue sections (spleen).
Physical form
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline with 5% trehalose.
Preparation Note
Purified using protein G.
