Cell Line Origin
Mouse Lymphocyte, friend leukemia
Cell Line Description
Investigation of differentiation-inducible leukaemia cells is considered important in the understanding of leukaemic or neoplastic state. Several ascites lines derived from friend virus-induced erythoid leukemia show an erythroid morphology and also, unusually high haem synthesis. Most cultured lines of friend virus-induced leukemia in mice, are known to be inducible to differentiate towards erythocytes. F-5-5.F1 is susceptible to the induction by both dimethyl and butyric acid.
Culture Medium
RPMI 1640 + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:10 i.e. seeding at 1x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or
