Cell Line Origin
Mouse C3H/An connective tissue
Cell Line Description
Derivative of NCTC clone 929 and was established in chemically defined medium (NCTC 109). It was subsequently adapted to cysteine-free medium (NCTC 135). The cells have been used in nutritional, immunological and toxicological studies; nutritional, metabolic and enzyme studies; preservation and storage of viable tissue; fluid suspension culture methods and replicate culture techniques and quantitative cell culture methods.
Application
Nutritional, immunological and toxicological studies
Culture Medium
NCTC 135 100% + 2mM Glutamine.
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:5 i.e. seeding at 5x10,000 to 2x100,000 cells/cm2 by scraping off the cells and resuspending into new flasks; 5% CO2; 37°C. Freeze in 9% glycerol/91% FBS.
