General description
It is an encapsulated catalyst (EnCat®), wherein palladium acetate is microencapsulated within a polyurea matrix, which prevents palladium leaching.
Application
Recyclable, immobilized catalyst system that simplifies removal of Pd in C-C bond forming and reduction processes.
Features and Benefits
The advantages of using Pd EnCat® catalysts are:
- low residual metal levels in crude product
- easy recovery of catalyst
- compatibility of immobilized metal with various ligands to effect C-C bond forming reactions
- safer and easier to handle than Pd/C for hydrogenation
- efficiency and economy gains through recovery and recycling
