General description
It is Pd EnCat® catalyst, wherein palladium acetate and 1,1′-binaphthalene-2,2′-diylbis(diphenylphosphine) (BINAP) are microencapsulated within a polyurea matrix, which prevents palladium leaching.
Application
Features and Benefits
The advantage of Pd EnCat® catalysts are:
- Low residual metal levels in crude product.
- Easy recovery of catalyst.
- Compatibility of immobilized metal with various ligands to effect C–C bond forming reactions.
- Safer and easier to handle than Pd/C for hydrogenation.
- Efficiency and economy gains through recovery and recycling.
