Either carrier holds approximately 175 standard 1 mL pipets (7 mm o.d.). Operates with water input from 1 1/2 to 12 liters per minute. Siphoning cycle of smaller size is completed in approximately 70 to 90 seconds, with properly adjusted water pressure and requires approximately 3 3/4 gallons (10 liters) of water for each cycle. At same water pressure, the larger size has cycle of 100 to 200 seconds, requiring 4 1/2 gallons (17 liters) of water for each cycle. Cycles are repeated as long as water supply is connected.
