Prostaglandin F|2|α|-d9 contains nine deuterium atoms at the 17, 17', 18, 18', 19, 19', 20, 20, and 20 positions and is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of PGF|2α|by GC- or LC-mass spectrometry. PGF|2α|is a widely distributed PG occurring in many species. Which causes contraction of vascular, bronchial, intestinal, and myometrial smooth muscle, and also exhibits potent luteolytic activity. PGF|2α|exerts its receptor mediated physiological activity at 50-100 nM.
