Purified Human IgM, 5mg

The product is tested for purity at a minimum of 20 mg/mL using immunoelectrophoresis. The product is human IgM; no trace of IgG, IgA or non-immunoglobulin serum proteins is detected. The total protein is determined using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as the standard. Each vial is overfilled by approximately 10 percent so that a minimum of 5 mg of human IgM is recovered. Human IgM is purified from human myeloma serum using multi-step procedures which may include salt fractionation, gel filtration, ion-exchange chromatography and immunoabsorption. The product is dialyzed into 0.01M sodium phosphate, 0.07M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, filtered through a 0.22 μm filter and vialed. No preservative has been added. Purified human IgM is suitable for use as a positive control in antibody identification screening techniques and is recommended as an ELISA coating antigen and control. From human myeloma, highly purified, immunoabsorbed to remove trace amounts of contaminant proteins. Product is human IgM and buffer salts.
