Cell Line Origin
Human Caucasian Burkitt′s lymphoma
Cell Line Description
Derived from a Burkitt′s lymphoma which does not possess the EBV genome. EBV infectability and permanent conversion into EBV positive sub-lines is possible by in vitro infection. The cells have B lymphocyte characteristics, with surface associated mu and kappa chains.
Application
Tumourigenicity and virus studies: Epstein-Barr virus (EBV).
RAMOS Cell Line human has been used to carry out a MTT (colorimetric assay) cell viability assay to measure calcium ionophore-induced cell death in Ramos cells under different conditions and to determine the expression of ZFP36 ring finger protein like 1 (ZFP36L1) in Ramos B cells during different stages of B cell differentiation.
