Ready-Red improves the recovery of nucleic acids during phenol extractions by making it much easier to visually distinguish the organic and aqueous phases. The red color (an insoluble, harmless dye compound) does not affect the quality of extracted DNA and can be adapted to any existing phenol extraction protocol. Ready-Red can be used for removing lingering traces of phenol from the aqueous phase and extracting nucleic acids directly when mixed with AquaPhenol.
