Description: Purified Staphylococcus aureus delta hemolysin (delta toxin; Hld). Size: 100 µg is supplied in phosphate buffered saline at a concentration of 0.729 mg/mL. Relevance: δ-Toxin is produced by S. aureus and is translated from the RNAIII transcript, a key player of the staphylococcal quorum sensing system (agr). δ- Toxin is a major virulence factor of S. aureus and primarily causes cytolysis in red and white blood cells. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: Assay-dependent dilution. WB: Not recommended for this peptide. Cytotoxicity assay: The peptide is active in functional lysis assays with horse red blood cells, as well as human peripheral mononuclear cells.
