Cell Line Description
Derived from the endometrium tissue from the uterus of a 21-28 day-old Sprague-Dawley rat. Cells carry vimentin, connexin 26 and connexin 43 markers. The transforming agent is adenovirus E1a protein.
Culture Medium
DMEM + 20μg/l Gly-His-Lys (Sigma) + 2mM Glutamine + 80 IU human Insulin/l (Novo) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) (heat-inactivated).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 i.e. seeding at 3x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C. Doubling time 48 hours.
