Application

Sodium chlorite may be used in the following studies:

Synthesis of chlorine dioxide.
Oxidation of primary alcohols to the corresponding aldehydes and of the aldehydes to the corresponding carboxylic acids.
As hydroxylating agent for the hydroxylation of androstenedione (steroid).
