Application

Synthesis of α-chloroketones.
Regioselective (ortho-selective) chlorination of phenols.
Conversion of monocyclic allylic cis-1,2-diols to the corresponding trans-1,2-chlorohydrins.
Preparation of β-chlorotetrahydrofuran derivatives.
